Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won an Emmy Award. She has also starred in dramas such as All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney had a family of four brothers. Though she had a dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until her high school years when Delaney started modeling. When she moved from New York City and gaining an experience working as a commercial model at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. Delaney was portrayed as a child's innocence in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actress, appearing in many films, television dramas, and TV films. Like her career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. She has also experienced two failed marriages, and has struggled with addiction issues. In 2005, the actress lost custody over her only son.
